I Received this Book for free for this Review.
Easy-to-read and deeply personal, this invaluable book draws on a wealth of experience, careful research, and a deep grounding in the Bible and Christian faith. She's Twelve Going on Twenty"offers a comprehensive, Christian approach to issues almost every mother and daughter will encounter. Spirit, Soul and Body are all covered in this book. I would say that it is a little hard to follow along but It has good qualities to it also if you can make it through the book :
Spirit covers the questions of identity, purpose and faith. There is a brief explanation of the four personality types (Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholy, Phlegmatic) to help mom and daughter understand each other a little more.
Soul covers relational topics such as friendship, love, and morality, and also covers topics pertaining to school and culture. This section of the book helps you help your daughter to form healthy relationships in her life as well as recognize those that are possibly unhealthy, relationships not only to other people but to the world around her.
Body covers all that tricky stuff about puberty and peer pressure. There are tips here on healthy diet and exercise as opposed to the danger of eating disorders, drugs and alcohol, sex and purity, style and body language, and last of all helping our children to set healthy boundaries for themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. Which I think its really great to have to be able to help your tween to educate them and give them so help in making good choices. We as Parents need to help in any way that we can in helping our growing children make good choices. And I would say that this book will help you with this. I would recommend this book to any of my family and friends. This book is Especially for moms of teens and preteens.
At the end of each chapter are going further type exercises for moms to do with their daughters. Which I really love it
