Aflac’s Corporate Philanthropy: Giving back to the community is an everyday part of what we do at Aflac. We've passionately supported the fight against childhood cancer for 17 years. Over our philanthropic history, the extended Aflac family has given more than $75 million to childhood cancer through our relationship with the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

I read the facts  that 12,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and I realize  that is a lot of children that needs our help .  But, with our help they have the potential to be lucky and grow up to be cancer free.  And we can help and we all need to do our part to make this happen.  Now through September 30, we can donate $12 to buy a “duck” in the Swim with Friends virtual duck race. Each donation will be matched by Aflac and will go to pediatric cancer research.Of course, you are welcome to donate more than $12. Each increment of $12 will get you another “duck” in the race. But what if you don’t have $12 to spare. You can donate any amount and Aflac will match it. So, if you have a spare dollar, that will be $2 in the long run.  For every tweet with the hashtag #AflacKids, Afllac will donate $2 to pediatric cancer research. That’s definitely something you can do if you get a chance and think about it.

On October 9th, the Swim with Friends virtual duck race will be held on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/aflacduck . The owner of the winning rubber duck (chosen at random) will win the family vacation for four. Swim with Friends and donate to get your rubber duck today at www.aflac.com/friends and Twitter at  @AflacDuck  .
