Operation Quiet Comfort




Operation Quiet Comforts was established in July 2004 for the purpose of honoring and comforting members of the u.s. Armed forces who are injured while serving.  This is a group that does alot of different programs.  I will tell you about them.  One of the programs that they do is called Go bags


Each GO Bag contains the following items:
Black backpack with sturdy straps (no markings)
Grooming Kit including –
   Shave Gel (travel size)
(2) Triple blade razors
2‐in‐1 Shampoo/Conditioner (travel size)
Q‐Tips (travel size pack)
Deodorant (travel size)
Mouthwash (travel size)
Toothbrush & Cover
Toothpaste (travel size)
Dental Floss
Tissue Pack (travel size pack)
Gold Bond Medicated Powder (travel size)
Body Lotion (travel size)
Toenail Clippers
Lip Balm
Black Comb
Hand Sanitizer (travel size)
Deodorant Bath Washcloths
Stationery Kit including –
Junior note pad
Envelopes
Pen
Mechanical Pencil
Puzzle Book
Personal CD Player
With (4) AA Batteries

The next program is Comfort Cards.  This is where they take donated signed card from anyone who signs and send them and they ask that you please put your state on the card and send a few kind words they are always looking for Thank You cards and Thinking of you Cards and at Christmas they are looking for Christmas Cards But You can send any of these Cards at any given time through out the year and if it is not Christmas time or if the Christmas deadline has passed don't worry they will hold on to them until the following year.  No Cards go to waste.  If you have some Cards laying around and want to put them to some good use get them out and spend some time this week around the table with the family and fill out some cards and then send them to

"How to get started "

Begin by gathering old blue jeans that meet all of the following Requirements:

Pre washed (no dryer sheet- important)  100% cotton no stretch Blue in color the light and medium blue denim works best for the block signing

Cut 6" squares out of well loved blue jeans 5" center for message.  Sign with sharpie marker Get Well or Thank You Etc.

The Four Freedom Gratitude Quilts are given to injured Service Members receiving medical care abroad.
The squares are signed by groups and individuals from all across America and include heart-felt written messages of thanks, appreciation and encouragement for the future.

They also collect coupons for coffee and treats, and healthy snacks and you can send them to Diane Schneider who's address is up above with the card program..
