Grandparent’s Day Gifts on a Budget: Tissue Paper flowers

Grandparent’s Day is on September 11th this year.  Are you ready?  With Grandparent’s Day, it’s really the thought that counts and you don’t have to spend a lot of money.  Grandparents enjoy getting things from their grandkids!  For the next few days, I’ll be featuring ideas for Grandparent’s Day gifts on a budget!

 

Today’s gift is a tissue paper flower bouquet !  My mother in law and daughter actually made this one when she was here visiting us last week and had a blast doing it together!  So, you can make a bouquet for the grandparents and give it to them or you can buy the materials and let it be a “bonding” activity instead!

Here’s what you need to make these awesome tissue paper flowers:

-6 large sheets of tissue paper

-1 pipe cleaner

-scissors

-green crepe paper (optional, we didn’t use this)

-bamboo garden stake (optional, we didn’t use this)

-tape

So, you can make this entire craft for less than $2 if you omit the crepe paper and the garden stake!  We just used the pipe cleaners for the stems on our flowers!
