Just 18 Summers Book Review






Just 18 Summers is a poignant story about 4 families  With the loss of a wife, sister, and friend, 4 families learn to cherish every minute. Butch has to learn how to raise his 8 year old daughter on his own, Beth has to learn to let go of her older children, Daphne has to navigate pregnancy without her friend's guidance, and Helen has to learn that although she gives her children everything they could possibly want- she also needs to learn who they are.

Rene Gutteridge and Michelle Cox write a seamless story of love, loss, and growth.I had a hard time putting it down. The characters are so well defined that you feel like you know them. The events are relate-able and realistic. There is an overall reminder that as a parent you only have 18 summers to give your children memories before their adult lives take over. Seize the moment and make the memories.
